"We've worked together since the 1980s. We grew up in an artisan family in a Costa Rican town known for its woodwork. This let us gain experience in our art. "Our grandparents were well known for their woodwork and we've always been surrounded by beautiful artwork. My brother Carlos and I have focused on utilitarian designs for the home while we perfected our techniques. "It was Carlos who started working on his own in a tiny workshop. It was really tough at first because the rent was very high. He worked hard and saved to buy a lot where he built a new workshop and, some time later, he invited me to join him there. "It's taken years to get where we are. We strive to innovate in designs with meaning and that share a glimpse of Costa Rica's beauty. This is a source of pride for us. "Our workshop has let us offer jobs to young people in the community. We've watched them as they grew up and we've all become like a family. We've grown together and helped one another, celebrating our triumphs and lending a hand when necessary. "This is a magnificent opportunity that is just beginning. It is our dream to reach the homes of many families with our designs. We also want to achieve a better future for our families and leave them the legacy of hardworking people."
