"I'm Mork Mendoza Vargas and I was born in Puno in 1986. I first came in contact with the textile arts when I was very young. My uncle opened a workshop in 1995 and I began to help out in any way I could. It marked my life.

"When I was 12, my father passed away and an aunt brought me to the capital to help in her fruit and vegetable shop. Some time later, I got a job in a knitting workshop where I worked for several years. There, I learned more about manual knitting machines and also how to knit by hand. As time went by, I saved up enough money to venture out on my own.

"It was really tough at first but, little by little, shoppers began to buy my designs. Today, I still look for new markets so the workshop will continue to grow.

"Two people collaborate with me. One helps with the knitting and the other sews the pieces together to form garments. Next comes the finishing, pressing, labeling and packing. We use natural fibers such as wool and alpaca.

"We're always working to develop new designs and optimize the way we work. Our apparel is of very good quality and we want you to feel good when wearing it."
