"My name is Made Tresna, and I'm from Ubud, Bali. I grew up in an artistic environment - I was always in touch with many artists and artisans everyday. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with woodcarving, an art form I have been practicing since childhood. My father taught me, and he is one of senior carvers in my village.

Searching for something new and different to carve, I realized I enjoyed carving masks in a more contemporary style. My favorite piece is a mask with four faces that I designed as symbol of a Balinese family. I named the mask 'Wayan, Made, Nyoman, and Ketut' - these are traditional Balinese names to refer to the first, second, third, and forth child born.
