With the spirit of an adventurer, Erick Fortin shows us how beautiful it can be to let your imagination flow.

"I craft leather objects as well as a few other designs. With time, I've experienced the sensation of imagining and bringing my imagination to life in different materials. This fills me with satisfaction.

"I really can't tell you how long ago I began crafting my designs because I don't remember. From my childhood days, I was drawn to handcrafted things. Thanks to my father who experimented with materials, the result was always something wonderful. I grew up in a beautiful family, a fun family filled with love. But overall, a family with values and teachings that now help me in my day-to-day life.

"Over the years, I've been able to create an infinity of designs so that, together with my wife and some friends, I designed and built our own home. It's a warm, welcoming space, perfect for family time.

"I'm totally in love with my beautiful Guatemala. It's a country filled with warm and hardworking people. This is something that fills me with pride because it a grain of sand in the development of this well-deserving country."

Erick Fortin is a versatile artist. He has developed his designs for the needs of people in their everyday lives. He creates and innovates, always experimenting with all kinds of products in wood, leather, fabric and iron. In each of his designs, he depicts the Rose of the Winds, attributed to the 13th century Franciscan layman Ramon Llull or Raimundo Lulio. A scientist, writer, theologian and missionary, he was born in Mallorca, Spain.

A circle divided in 32 directions, the Rose of the Winds is very similar to the markings on a compass.
