"I was born in 1978 and grew up in Jakarta. After my parents divorced, I moved to East Java with my mother and sister when I was 18. I look up to my parents and hope to do something for them that will make them proud.

"My mom, younger sister and I started a new life in a small town where I met interesting people who introduced me to jewelry-making. Thanks to their patience and kindness, I learned to make silver jewelry for the first time. Later, I became interested in going to Bali to start a workshop with my friends.

"I married in 2003 and had a daughter in 2014. We're so happy to have her with us. Before having a child, everything seemed normal but, years later, we began blaming each other for not being able to conceive. Then we realized there was nothing good about blaming the person we care about the most.

"I believe God works in mysterious ways. In early 2013, my wife became pregnant and we were so happy. That's where I learned the most important thing in life. When I'd see people holding their children, I'd feel a bit lonely, but now I feel like my life is complete and it makes me want to create more and more designs.

"I work with silversmiths who have spent most of their lives dedicated to this work. They are good at their jobs and I respect their skills. All of our silversmiths are from East Java and most of them grew up in a traditionally artisan environment.

"The bone carvings are from a small village in Bali. Most of the people who live there do this for a living.

"We mostly use sterling silver and bone, which is carved with manual tools. I create the designs myself and also participate in the crafting process."
